Sustenance V
$1200- Unique Artwork donated by the artist
If we consult a dictionary, it will define desert as an “area of land without water and desolate, with little or no vegetation, typically covered with sand”.
And yet, there is life in the desert. More than most people realize. In the Namib (South Africa), this is due to the wonderful miracle of fog: clouds rolling in from the Atlantic Ocean bring with them the moisture that sustains the wildlife that live in this beautiful and harsh landscape.

Ivory on Black
$210 – $500- Hahnemüle Photo Rag Printing
African elephant, photographed and processed in the low-key portrait style.
Aesthetically, this image is all about the contrast of color, texture, and luminosity between the elephant’s tusks and trunk. It highlights the feature that is most emblematic of the species; the tusks, which tragically are also what makes them so highly prized by poachers.
Over time the darkness in my low-key portraits has become increasingly meaningful to me, and this photo certainly embodies that; representing the dark reality of the issues facing Elephants from the continuing ivory trade.

The Liberty
by Sara Goli$339 – $514“This photo was taken by me in Sharjah. It looks like a lock that had been opened and the bird was flying”
This original wall art black & white photograph calls the viewer for a questioning second glace. A bird is silhouetted against the bright sky, its flight path suggested by the geometric architecture. The spiral structure catches the light as a ramp up in to the heavens. The composition could be an interpretation of freedom, flight, and release into the wild.
-
The Dead End
by Sara Goli$339 – $528A traveller continues their quest to the end, will it prove futile or is the destination eclipsed by the beauty of the journey? The diagonal dimension of this original photo highlights the drama of the known and unknown. -
River Dragging
$210 – $500This image captures a moment in the artist’s home country, Bangladesh, where the impacts of river dragging on the aquatic ecosystem and the life it supports have been relatively well studied. The clear sky is a bold contrast to the glittering waves and dark plumes of smoke. The process of dragging helps the river flow normally. The effects of dragging can be immediate or develop over a longer time frame and they may be temporary or permanent.
-
3D Shadow
by Sara Goli$339 – $558“Minimalism means less is more” Sara Goli’s original photography embodies her artistic ethos both in its process and the content it depicts. A rough concrete wall joins a smoother stone flooring, connected by a slim wooden slat leaning and casting a jaunty shadow. The first look of this photo provides a simple aesthetic clean composition. Variance in texture and material is highlighted by the simple setup that pronounces the shadows as if treating them as another material entirely. With a long look, the composition may shift with the mind producing a more abstract interpretation. Shadow and wood pop out as the geometric center of the composition; a triangle floating in space through which a single line thread through.
This piece complements a modern space as a framed photo for the wall. It encapsulates two worlds of art: photography and geometric abstraction. By doing so it also makes subtle comment and reminder that despite the critique and trends, art interpretation and perspective remains a subjective experience.
