“I was about to take a photograph of these lovely purple flowers when the bee flew by. I was delighted to catch her in such a relaxed state around the flowers at Great Dixter House and Gardens in East Sussex, UK, 2021.

My art stems from the need to reconnect with the beautiful nature that surrounds us. As a human, I enjoy the wonders of discovery and constant advancement that define us as a species, but it also saddens me that we overlook the wonders so close at hand. The desire to overcome this condition pushed me on my own exploration, and I am happy to continue to move forward on that path day after day. This collection of photos documents the tragic beauty of nature’s alterations that occur before our eyes through snapshots taken in my local area that are meant to provoke exploration of the esoteric signs that nature gives us at every turn.”

Description

Mrvitze Bakovic | Rumania

Oana is a photographer who mainly covers documentary and fine art photography. Through her work she captures the beauty and peculiarities of the natural world. Her creations are closely linked to her commitment to saving the natural world by showing its beauty in detail, and capturing the magic of simple, everyday moments where nature reigns.

In her photographic journey, she began by limiting herself to the use of the camera and natural sunlight, but soon discovered that through artificial lights she could go further, and give a unique focus on the small realities that surround us. The challenge of pursuing interesting angles and intensities of natural light is the backbone of her approach.
