Description
Teresa Alvarez Lavilla | Spain
Teresa Alvarez Lavilla is a multi-disciplinary artist born in Madrid. One of the rooted inspirations of her work is the relationship between body and space: a provocative theme woven into many of her artistic expressions. Daughter of a pianist and granddaughter of a mezzo-soprano, she grew up in a culturally rich environment connecting with music, performing arts, and visual art from a young age. She maintains an interest in physical theatre and dance; having trained at Centro Andaluz de Danza (CAD) in Seville, the Movement Research in New York, and with choreographers such as Francesc Bravo, Luz Arcas or Mey Ling Bisogno among others while in Spain. In addition, she also studied contemporary art history and galleries, eventually completing a Master’s degree in Museology. Lavilla currently continues to create multi-disciplinary work and lead workshops for movement and composition.
