Description
Mena Sambiasi | Argentina
Mena Sambiasi’s journey as a photographer started from her TV-filled childhood growing up in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Ironically, she avoided photography at her technical high school studying advertising. Her study and work with video and production continued taking her to Malaga and Madrid. It was after watching “Revolutionary Road” (dir. Sam Mendes) that inspired her to move back to Buenos Aires and study photography. Back home, Mena struggled to not feel estranged in her own home country and began to experiment with photographing the contemplative figures at bus stops. After a life-changing workshop, she identified a major theme of her work being “reflections” emoting through capturing the details of the city. Today, Mena Sambiasi continues to discover new places with the childlike curiosity of newness and excitement.
