The liquid quality of this abstract original painting creates a meditative flow in colors and textures, captured in movement as they come together over space to create a united whole. The paint retains an expressive quality transforming into malleable emotions that blend and layer in harmony. The abstract enigma generates fresh forms and impressions with every look, whispering new meanings to viewers who look for it.

Decor tips: A beautifully elegant piece to become the focal point in a classical or contemporary space. The visible expressive brushstrokes reminisce of classical techniques and masterpieces but invite the ethereal quality of the modern aesthetic. A great piece for a living room over a mantel or as a celebrated centerpiece in wall decoration marking the unique and transcendent world of art.

Description

Cristina De Castro | Colombia

The core of artist Cristina Di Castro’s work is characterized by the central theme of the osmosis of what surrounds us. She retains an interest in streams of knowledge itself such as the phenomenon of perception, scientific concepts of time and space, and theories that modify and question our surroundings, identities, and the spiritual aspects of humanity. Born in Bogota, Columbia, she first studied Fine Art at the Departmental Institute of Fine Arts in the city of Cali. To this day she continues to nurture her education continuously taking refresher courses on modern and contemporary art in different institutions such as the Banco de la Republica, Misol foundation for the arts; with renowned art critics and curators such as Alvaro Medina, Carlos Quintero and Nestor Martinez, drawing courses with the artist Natalia Castañeda and Blanca Moreno. In her compositions these thematic threads of knowledge are interwoven with a sensitivity to her own momentous story. Both materials and meanings are treated as transient, more fluid, blurred, and expressing the impossibility of feeling identified with the current reality- seeking new stages of realization. She has exhibited solo and as a contributor to group shows in Columbia as well as internationally in the United States, Mexico, Spain, and Austria. Her works are also part of private collections worldwide.
