Iván Vera | Chile
From the earliest years, Iván Vera was interested in art. His primary and secondary education was at the Deutsche Schule in Valparaiso, Chile where German education emphasized early training in music and the plastic arts. He was also a student of Professor Wolfgang Hartmann, a German living in Chile during the 70s, who mentored him in aesthetics, expression, and drawing and painting technique. Despite studying electrical engineering, he continued to develop his artistic sensibility by taking classes with Bororo, an outstanding Chilean painter. Vera’s recent work has been concerning watercolor painting finding inspiration and fascination in the birds of Chile.
