Mckays surrealist Flair was inspired after encountering work of Belgian artist Rene Magritte. The cage of the mind finds a gentle release as two small birds  escape on a delicate misty morning. An expansive sky above and wheat field below enhance the feeling of light freedom, a gentle exhale in the coolness of morning. McKay recounts listening to the Butterfly Collector at the time of this piece’s creation. The viewer can imagine the tune playing in the background of this fleeting moment.
