Juan Monte’s work stems from a constant concern about life itself and his surroundings. Within his work, color plays a vital role as a communicative and participatory element in the realm of painting. He has approached various images, ranging from figurative to abstract, and has been influenced by various painters throughout his career, including those from the Impressionism and Renaissance periods. He has always worked with oil as his preferred technique and has, on several occasions, developed series that have evolved into exhibition projects, both figurative and abstract. He believes in painting as a craft and as a daily quest.
